Wexford Christian Union Society FAQs
Can I go to CU if I'm not a Christian?
Of course! In fact, we want you here!! We are passionate about sharing our faith with everyone, no matter what their religion, or lack of is! Most of our members in the CU actually are not committed Christians and are just exploring the faith :)
Isn't Christianity old-fashioned and outdated?
No, not at all! Christianity is for everyone of all ages. There are so many young, passionate people in the church. A faith in Jesus is so amazing, there is nothing like it!
Why should you even care about Christianity?
There are so many reasons to care! Firstly, as Christians we actually believe that Christianity is true. This is not just a blind faith. There is a lot of evidence and research to back up our beliefs. Such as the evidence for the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the reliability of the New Testament manuscripts, and so on! Also, Christianity changed the ancient world, and is the reason for the values and morals that we have in Western societies.
What even is a CU?
A Christian Union (CU) is a community of students that seek to meet together to explore and share the Christian faith with each other and the wider campus!

Is this club run by professional bodies?
Short answer: No. Longer answer: While the club is not run by professional bodies, we follow the required standards and guidelines for the game. Our training is conducted in line with the Laws of the Game, and we use the free resources available that align with recognised soccer standards. To keep costs low and provide opportunities for everyone to participate, the club is run and coached in-house by volunteers rather than professional staff. All club decisions are reviewed and signed off by the Chair, who oversees club activities and ensures everything is run appropriately. If you have any further questions, please contact us using the email form below.
Do you provide casual sessions or more professional?
Realistically it really depends on the team of the year, students could be coming from higher divisions, lower divisions or have never played, we cater to all, generally taking a peer to peer approach where people who are more experienced can help guide beginners. As for other roles, all training will be provided inhouse and people may/may not have experience but has gone threw our training process.
